Affiliation and Accreditation

Accreditations carry a vital role as they indicate the approval and recognition of institutions that are established exclusively to assure quality and ensure consistent levels of learning and producing excellence in the sector of higher education in the country.

Numerous distinctive components are considered for evaluating quality in order to study and appraise the institution’s eligibility to get accredited.The capacity and capability to issue degrees come by the good quality and feature of accreditation.

Affiliations are the basic and minimal quality of an educational institute. They ensure that the institute under consideration follows the basic prevalent norms issued by the affiliation bodies and ensure following the rule of standardization. This establishes and builds uniformity in the process of providing qualitative education and that the necessary facilities are provided on par with the industry.

The K. J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and In­formation Technology (KJSIEIT) is Approved by AICTE in the year 2001.

The All India Council for Technical Education is the statutory body and a national-level council for technical education, under Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. AICTE was formed in November 1945 with the vision to promote development of the education system in India.

The University of Mumbai established in 1857 is considered as one of the largest universities in the country with more than 700 affiliated colleges. The colleges affiliated to University of Mumbai not only offer a wide range of courses in different streams at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels (UG, PG, M.Phil and Ph.D.), but also equip students with state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure.

The K. J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and In­formation Technology (KJSIEIT) is Approved by D.T.E., Government of Maharashtra.

The Directorate of Technical Education in Maharashtra, has been established to ensure that technical institutions catering to Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy and Hotel Management & Catering Technology courses across the State of Maharashtra confirm with the policies, rules, guidelines and strategies formulated by the Central and State governments. The Directorate has supervisory ambit, around 1600 Technical Education.institutions across the state of Maharashtra spread across 6 regions viz. Amravati, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik and Pune.

The K. J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and In­formation Technology (KJSIEIT) has NBA Accredited 3 Programs--Computer Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering & Electronics Engineering.

NBA accreditation recognises the innovations and achievements of higher learning institutes. The accreditation of NBA helps higher educational institute to know its strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.

National Board of Accreditation (NBA) is different from other accreditation bodies in India, as it accredits programmes or courses and not institutes.

The NBA accreditation applies for Diploma, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate courses.

The K. J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and In­formation Technology (KJSIEIT) is NAAC Accredited with ‘A’ grade in the first cycle with 3.21 CGPA

National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is an organisation that assesses and accredits higher education Institutions (HEIs) in India. It is an autonomous body by University Grants Commission of Government of India.The prime agenda of NAAC is to assess and accredit institutions of higher learning with all objective of helping them to work continuously to improve the quality of education.
