The event will be graced by Chief Guest Dr.  B. N. Jagatap, Professor IIT, Bombay, Department of Physics. 

About the Speaker: Prof. Jagatap did his PhD from Bombay University in 1980. He joined the Department of Physics, IIT Bombay in January 2017 after superannuating as Distinguished Scientist and Director, Chemical Group from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai in December 2016. 

Prof. Jagatap’s research are inclined towards the study of Laser Physics, Quantum optics, Nanophotonics, Energy science. Before joining IIT Bombay, Prof. Jagatap has had a R&D experience of over 40 years. He joined Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in 1977 as Scientific Officer after completing one BARC Training School Programme. He has held a number of positions in BARC during the career span of 1977-2016, which included Head, Atomic & Molecular Physics Division from 2010 to 2013, and Director, Chemical Group from 2013 to 2016. He was also awarded  ‘Outstanding Scientist’ in 2008 and ‘Distinguished Scientist Award‘ in 2012.
