                                   Organization and Governance

K. J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology, Sion, Mumbai - 400022; is an Institute of Somaiya Trust, affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

The four programmes in Engineering education – viz Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering and Electronics Engineering, are approved both by All India Council pf Technical Education (AICTE) and Directorate Technical Education (DTE).

The conducts of all the activities related to the academic requirements of engineering syllabi are in accordance with the objectives set by the Board of Studies.

The Collage Development Committee comprises of members of Management, nominated members and elected representatives of teaching and non-teaching staff with Principal as the Member-Secretary.  The LMC is responsible to acknowledge, supervise policy decisions in compliance with the vision and the mission statements of the Institute.

The Principal, Vice Principal and Registrar monitor and analyze the routine administration and the academic work  with relevance to communicating decision, work efforts and resource allocations.

The Dean – Academics and the Head of the Departments Co-ordinate to review the progress and interim development plan for the appraisal of the teaching and non-teaching staff and the students.  These appraisals are the feed-back for recognizing strength and accomplishments and to identify the gap for further up-gradation and improvisation.
